1. Resin & Acrylic – The Entry-Level Favorite, Unlimited Colors

Overview: The most common dice material. Affordable,  It's affordable, but don't let that fool you—resin can take on just about any color, glitter swirl, or little insert you can dream up.

Feel: Lightweight. Rolling them puts almost no strain on your wrist—ideal for DMs who roll dozens of times per session.

Sound: A crisp “clack” on a wooden table, softer on a dice tray or mat. Clean and unobtrusive.

Durability & Care: The main downside is brittleness. Sharp edges can chip if dropped on a hard floor. Clean with a soft cloth; avoid prolonged sunlight or high heat.

2. Metal – Heavy, Satisfying, and Full of Presence

Overview: Brass, bronze, stainless steel, zinc alloy—metal dice bring a sense of ceremony to every roll.

Feel: Noticeably heavy. You need a bit more force to roll them, but they settle quickly with minimal bounce. Many players keep a metal set for “critical” rolls.

On the wooden tabletop, it made a heavy "thud" - like a war hammer hitting a shield, like a heavy object falling to the ground, steady and powerful. Falling on the dice roll, the sound softened and turned into a muffled sound, still having a sense of presence, but knowing more about moderation.

Durability & Care: The metal dice themselves are very durable, but the colored plating layer will gradually wear out with use. And materials such as brass and bronze will naturally oxidize to form patina - many players prefer this retro texture. It is recommended to use velvet bags for daily storage, while avoiding contact with humid environments and acidic substances.

Overview: Simply put, gemstone dice are made by cutting and polishing real natural stones such as amethyst, obsidian, marble, etc. Each dice has its own texture, color, and story. No two are exactly the same.

Feel: Medium weight. The surface of each gemstone dice is finely polished, with a smooth and warm touch. Upon closer inspection of the light, one can see the unique imprints of natural stones - unique cotton fluff, ice cracks, or color bands.

Sound: The sound of gemstone dice depends on the material of the dice disc. When it lands on the soft dice tray, it makes almost no sound. When it lands on the hard dice disc, there will be a short impact sound.
